Official GBPD Statement: The Green Bay Police Department SWAT team held a training at the Cherry Street parking ramp in downtown Green Bay. This training involved members of the rappel team, which is a specialized team within SWAT that conducts monthly training related to rappel operations. On this rainy day, the focus was on building entries. As a SWAT team our mindset is built different, and we understand that we must train in adverse conditions because we are not able to dictate the environment that we respond to for real world situations. We recognize that these skills are perishable and continuous training in different scenarios will keep us properly prepared to respond to community needs
