Bay View students pay in forward
Green Bay, WI.
About 100 students in the Maputo bay (formally known as the Apollo House) at Bay View Middle School volunteered for Fall clean up duty at the Saumico Cemetery.
The event has a different meaning for 7th grader London Lablonde. Suamico Cemetery is her father’s final resting place. “It means a lot because all these people are helping clean up his cemetery” she says.
The event gives students an opportunity to give back to their community. Maxwell Baus, center, recommends more students help out in the spring. “It would mean a lot to us” he says

The Biannual event is a team effort, the Village of Suamico provided the equipment and portable bathrooms, while Lamers Bus Lines took care of the transportation.

Twice a year Bayview Middle School students volunteer to clean up Suamico Cemetery. The Fall event is centered on leaf clean up, while the Spring session focuses on placing flags on veteran’s graves in observation of Memorial Day.
